fucked up deertober

the spirit of fucked up deer compels me so i've been participating in fucked up deertober 2026. my goal has been to challenge myself by making small (roughly common sticky note size) drawings under a strict time limit and posting whatever i end up with regardless. as of this update, deertober is about halfway through and my initial self-imposed challenge is still going strong. do i like every piece i've made? no, but that's part of the challenge. you can see a feed of my deertober posts on tumblr because there's no way for me to embed it here without making my own javascript library.

reading/writing

i'm no longer on pace to finish project hail mary by the end of the year, given that i'm only ~40% through, but i've been writing! i'm not sure about how to make a "devlog" for writing like i plan to do with my other projects, so for now you'll just get the writings as i finish them. i finally finished my short (~1000 words) idea i had outlined over a year ago and you can find it on AO3. my writing has slowed down to focus on deertober, but i have a semi-original short story that i want to write next. until now, i've never creatively written outside of elementary school, so i have a lot to learn but i've been having fun playing with words.

i made a zine! for the first time ever! i'm not sure if i'll ever get the sudden urge to make a zine again, but i had fun going through the process. you can download it through my files and read about my experience.
